Happy Anniversary Joey and Courtney Dignam!!!!
Two years ago yesterday, Joey and Courtney came together in marriage
in Miramichi, New Brunswick and we were so blessed to be their
photographers. Its so exciting to be able to wish them a Happy
Anniversary! Congratulations on two years and now with baby Rowan, we
wish you guys many more beautiful years and anniversaries!

Congratulations Meagan and Kirk! What beautiful people and what a beautiful wedding! The day started in Halifax where Meagan and the girls got ready. Our day had only started and we were already having so much fun taking pre-ceremony shots of the beautiful ladies, flower girl and Meagan’s parents. We then drove to Hammonds Plains, where we took some shots of the spiffy men and where the magic began. With the backdrop of greenery, blue sky and woods, what more did you need besides white chairs and a white-petal aisle. Simply stunning. Meagan and Kirk also made a fantastic choice of hosting their reception by the waterfront at the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic, catered by Scanway Catering which made for a fine evening! All in all, having the backdrop of the Halifax harbour, rustic boardwalks, cityscape and a clear day gave us some of our favorite images! Thank you Meagan and Kirk for having us!
P.S, did we mention it had been calling for thunder showers the entire day but we didn’t see a drop?! Such a blessing!

Amanda + Derrick

We had so much fun working with Amanda and Derrick! They had a such a great attitude towards everything - including the rain. Everyone looked beautiful and handsome. Throughout the day it was very apparent how much these two lovebirds adored each other. It was so wonderful to witness and capture. Thank you guys for letting us be a part of your day!

Photobooth Props!
Finally!! With help from Sarah Sherrard, Laura Sherrard, we finished our Photo Booth props. In fact, we used them at Amanda + Derrick's wedding this past Saturday. It was a success and we had a blast! Enjoy!

Soon - To - Be Lewis' Engagement
She's swift on her legs and he's swift with his fingers. That's what you get when you have a runner and an incredible pianist. Jason and Jillian soon - to - be - Lewis, what fun we had shooting your engagement session. We could've gone on for hours and if it weren't for the sun setting fast and mosquitoes we may as well just have! We are so pumped for the two of you getting hitched and greatly looking forward to photographing your big day!

They came for a short but very sweet visit and celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary with us! There aren't enough words to describe these guys, they are one-of-a-kind. Portrait - Featuring Charly Ann Sherrard
About 11 months ago, Jordan's sister Sarah and her husband John welcomed beautiful Charly Ann Sherrard into the world! As we were away in Calgary, we only saw her for a total of 4 times. Aside from always looking forward to seeing her because she is absolutely adorable, it has been so exciting and amazing to see how beautifully she has been growing and the personality she has been developing. So, when we saw her for the third time last month, we were so blessed to have the opportunity to take family portraits. We will see her again soon and this time it will be when she turns a solid 1 year old!! We love you Charly.

Legacy: Addison Aucoin
In 2009, Jemita and Andrew came together to become husband and wife in Wolfville, Nova Scotia. Recently, we made a very exciting trip back to Wolfville to take baby portraits of beautiful, full-of-smiles, bright-eyed Addison Aucoin, daughter of Jemita and Andrew. To photograph a couple's wedding day and then photograph their first child, their legacy, 3 years later is simply amazing and such an honor. Congratulations Jemita and Andrew!

The Baby Shoot
The other day we had the opportunity to take some more photos of the beautiful Rowan Dignam, but this time not in the hospital. Judith and I searched Antigonish for some props (blankets, buckets, baskets - stuff photographers like to put babies in) and made our way to Joey and Courtney's place. One awesome thing about this shoot is that their house has a large living room with lots of natural light coming in. What a treat! So we set everything up, turned on the Ella Fitzgerald, and got Rowan ready for some photos... and she was great! She did poop a few times but barely cried for the entire shoot. Rowan - good job at sticking it out. I promise that you will have a good laugh at these photos some day in the future!

Rowan Eleanor Dignam | July 14 2012
It was a long time coming, but the other night one of my best buddies and his wife had their first baby. Her name is Rowan Eleanor Dignam and she was 8 pounds, 4 ounces, 22 inches long.
The reason this brings me so much joy is because I know that Joey and Courtney are fully dedicated to being the best parents that they can be. They love Jesus and are committed to Him, and it is because of this relationship that they will have the strength and wisdom that is needed in every moment of their new life as parents.

Three Weddings and a Road Trip
Well the last month has been super busy and also super fun! Here are some of the highlights:
June 2nd: Our first wedding of the year took place in Calgary. It was for Tyler and Tricia Kerfoot and it was a great time. Their outdoor location was beautiful, and the weather was accommodating... mostly. Rain fell in the morning, which was fine, but the wind - the wind was tough. Especially when it started to blow just as we began taking our formal wedding party photos! Nevertheless we did our best and ended up with some great photos.
June 16: This time we shot Krista and Scott's wedding (which was featured in a previous post) at another beautiful outdoor wedding. This was a smaller, more intimate ceremony, with just friends and family. It seemed like everyone had a great time. Even their little girl Ruby, who seemed to cheer and clap when Krista and Scott were pronounced husband and wife, despite the fact that she is still too young to speak!
June 23: We then hit the road for Edmonton (Stony Plain actually), for the wedding of Eric and Kendra Jesperson. This one was a little more unique because these two decided to elope a few months back, while saving the photo taking for a later date... which turned out to be a really good idea. This way we had plenty of time to focus on taking photos, without worrying about the tight schedule of an actual wedding day. We started with some family photos, and then moved on to some really cool spots around Spruce Grove. One of which was a really cool alley with a blue graffiti wall that we shot Eric and Kendra in. This turned out to be my favorite shot from the day! Afterwards, we left downtown and found ourselves a little farther into the country. This location featured long grass and an old beat-up barn - two things I love very much when photographing couples. It also featured something else no other wedding had up until this point - guns. Yes, guns. Eric apparently is quite the hunter, so they brought along some guns and used them as props in some of the shots. Great idea! We need more wedding photos with guns in them.
One week after that, we packed up all of our stuff and hit the road for the East coast. Our next wedding was on July 7 in Truro, Nova Scotia, which gave us one week to drive across the country. This is actually a good amount of time considering I have some friends who did the drive in 2 days! Wow. We on the other hand, took our time, stayed with some friends, and stopped at just about every single Tim Hortons along the way. Thanks again to Leah, Brooke, Niko, Saku, Abena, and Paul for opening up your homes to us!
